The Arctic Fox lives in the arctic tundra. Its furry white or grey coat keeps it warm in weathers below 50 degrees Celsius. It is a heterotrophic animal because it hunts for its own food, it cannot make its own. Arctic Foxes live in burrows made in the ground, they raise their young in them. They are called kits. When it eats a meal that is to big it saves some in the burrow or in other places for later, or to feed their kits. Both mother and father help raise them. A female fox is called a Vixon. They sleep in their burrows balled up with their tails covering their noses. Their tails help them balance themselves.
